Question Fish and Wildlife or Alberta Agriculture?

The neighbour has a pond down the road that is stocked with rainbow trout and whenever we get a big run off it overflows into the Sturgeon River headwaters. Is this an issue? If so is it Fish and Wildlife or Alberta Agriculture that deal with it?

The pond is on the west side of Rge Rd 72 between Twp Rd 530 and Twp Rd 524 north of Drayton Valley.

Ag licences and fish and wildlife would investigate if anything illegal.

Seems to me that Alberta Agriculture issues the fish farm licences and are supposed to take into consideration watercourses, and likely in this case it was an oversight if the fish are escaping.

No illegal stocking likely happening, licensed stocking is totally legal fish are bought from a legitimate source.

Posting on here as you have, now he'll probably never get to stock his pond again.

Like already men tied If the pond is running over it shouldn't have been stocked to begin with.

Must be quite the contour to catch water into a pond, then over flow from it to a adjacent river. Also agree why they allowed stocking if it had that potential.

Someone will catch a trout in the Sturgeon and go WTH?
