I've had a few rifles painted with whatever heavy duty paint that guys "in the business" use and rattle can painted some others myself and have never noticed a lingering paint smell... if game can smell the paint on my rifle, the gig was likely up well before the paint fumes hit nostrils...

The amount of paint scent lingering is nothing compared to human scent .
That is why we pay attention to the wind!

I'm pretty partial to it......the original builder is a bit of a perfectionist

I really like everything about it but it's in 7mm Mashburn and I don't have a need for a heavy seven.

I'm thinking a re-barrel might be in order but I'm at a loss as to where to go with it. I like the idea of a 300wm but I left a hole in my line up as I traded a 257wby Ultralite for it....first world problems.

I could be talked into a trade of some type Chuck.

I have a 338 win mag Model 70 and an extra 30-06 barrel that could be a 300 Win Mag in a hurry. I'll throw in that Echols McMillan and we'll call it a day. Or I have a 700 that is a 243 AI with a fancy blue swirly stock. :-)

Or if you decide to rebarrel, I'm interested in those dies. :-)

I had a 338rum built last year so I'm full there

I always drool over your builds.....so much so when I saw this come up on CGN I jumped on it. It was a tough sell because I had just ordered the 338. I found that referring to both rifles as "the custom" created enough confusion that the "Minister of Finance" never really caught on that there were two rifles coming in the near future. Kind of ingenious actually!!

I'd be interested in a 280rem (or AI) or a 300wm type in a light to med weight mountain type carrying rifle.

The Mashburn is a beautifully put together piece of work......something similar would be pretty much perfect for me. I know this action is a tough one to find and if it is something you would like we could chat. I just wish I was closer to you and I could stand in front of your safe and point

Consider the dies yours.....I'll dig them up tomorrow. Just on nightshift now.
