Default Elk Hunting!

Hi all,

I'm going elk hunting this weekend (OCt 29th) for the first time ever! Super stoked. I will be going near Nordegg and camping for 4 days.

Does anyone have any tips? I bought a bugle but it might be a little late in the year? Walk the cut blocks?

I have been deer hunting on the prairies many times but this is a first.

Any help would be appreciated!

I haven't hunted this area, so I can't direct you where to go...

Your bugle will be very effective to call in the wolves and scare the elk away.

If you don't want to attract the wolves, stay quiet, look for fresh elk tracks, and figure out their travel routes. Then get in their way.

Have fun!

Appreciate the advice! Hoping for some snow for tracking even though I have a bloody aircast on my left foot.

Should be fun!

Take a cow call, as well. Might suck some elk in, or wolves.
