I've got 11 days off in late July and will be taking my kids camping through the mountain parks, Maligne is definitely high on my list of spots to paddle/ fish. Thanks for posing these pictures, looking forward to fishing some nice clear water.

Been years since we fished it. Love the crystal clear water. Can see a fish on the hook way down there. Got to take the kids there and experience it. Thanks for the pics.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, isn't there a possession limit of 0 in Jasper/Banff/Yoho, etc. this year? Maligne included. Only Lake Minnewanka in Banff, can keep 2. Emailed Parks Canada and they claimed whirling disease was the reason, not sure how much sense that makes to include the backcountry lakes, but they did. I hope I'm wrong.

They must have been mistaken in the email they sent me. Doesn't say anything about Jasper being catch and release in the regs. Just Banff, Yoho and Kootenay. Sorry for my confusion, I'm going to email them back and make sure they made a mistake.

The new cook was not as good a the old one, and the second mate give bad advise. Fishing out deep did produce fish just not big ones? It was still a good trip and it is nice to meet people again that you have seen up there before. It is like old friends getting together again.

Brookies are my fave, every year we go to Emerald in Yoho but it's C&R this year and may be forever. I'll give Maligne a go next year, those are some beauties, way to go and thanks for posting.

Nice pictures! Beautiful Brook Trout. It always seems odd to me though seeing pics of a fish native to the east side of Canada being stocked or having been stocked in western mountain waters but it sure makes for some nice pictures combining the Brookie with a mountain backdrop!
