I have been buying mine online.....that way if I lose it or it gets wet/falls apart I can just print off another one, sign it, and I am back in business.

Picked mine up at Canadian Tire. Kinda odd that even though I bought mine from the store I can't reprint it online from alberta relm. Guess I'll have to take good care of it haha

online for the reprints too. Came in handy too because I got pulled over the last time I went fishing. After I got home I found the original in the tackle box but the reprint saved me a lot of panic. I also had a copy on my phone but it isn't signed. I wonder if that would save me a ticket though? Technically it isn't valid until signed but if you ended up in court, I can't really see a conviction happening.

For this year I have a copy in my truck, wallet, both tackle boxes and the vest.

I won't buy from a store again.

Theoretically....What if you take a picture of the signed version of your fishing license....would that hold up in court?

X2 Crazy not to. No running around at 6 a.m. going "Where's my %#$#^# license?" I just print off a bunch and put a copy in each peice of my fishing gear and vehicles. And if I can't find those I just print off more. Ditto hunting license.

Online-for reasons already stated.

Plus will buy a BC Licence on line as well.

I do it online as well. I like the "print it small" comment. I'm going to do that when I get it this year. I don't like having to deal with a giant lump sticking out of my wallet.. .I already have to deal with that in other ways. I wear skinny pants. They are high fashion and functional.

Online. For reasons stated above. I did hear a rumor from one license issuer that within the next couple years that will be the only way to do it. They are supposedly going to phase out issuing them in store. Although I would have to see it to believe it and have serious doubts that will happen.

I loved the days when a fishing license was a nice looking document or certificate. Some regions back east and in the states had buttons and pins. When my Dad guided back east he was issued a guide pin. Not like the silly receipt you get now. I guess that's why I like printing it online. I can run it on nice paper.

I was in Fish Tales right at the end of March, so I picked mine up then and there.

I bought mine at the store, but you can print it off later anyways from Alberta realm I think? I have printed a few copies from there and its the same thing as buying online. It worked for me very well so I dont see the difference

Maybe mine is a special case I had to renew my WIN card as well. I log into Alberta RELM and hit Reprint licence and it shows my Licence number and what its for and I can click on it and my licence pops up. However it does not work on my girlfriends page I just tried it

I purchase online, and save it as a .pdf on my laptop -- provides easy access. Signing is important...I forgot to do that a couple of years ago. The officer was very accommodating ("are you sure about that? Here's my pen, if you want to borrow it.")...but I always make sure I have at least one signed copy, now...and haven't been checked since. Not sure if a digital signed license is valid or not.

Don't think they recognize that yet(you likely will get a ticket). Think it needs to be a paper licence

I had the same thing happen at Pigeon a few years back....F&W pulled up to check us, handed him my license that I just bought at Mohawk that morning @530am.....he turns his head and passes me a pen and the license back, and says.....let me know when you are done

Thought that was decent of him.....it could have gone the other way.
