Nice, close up of the handle would be nice, any decals or markings? Scrutiny of the handle and butt area can tell a lot.

It doesn't look like it's split cane, is it one piece of bamboo (or wood) per section?

I suspect a trade rod produced in large quantities for hardware stores and the like.
Would be great if the pictures were in focus.
There is some conflicting stuff.
The case is typically European in origin.
The corks are rotated 90 degrees from cork handles built by most manufacturers. The cork orientation typically means low priced rods.
The ferrules appear to be chromed which is typically US. They are not crowned.
The tp top looks like a double wrap of wire. Need focus.
Reel seat is brass Is it screwed to the cork?
The butt cap generally means to heavy weight rod for larger fish - salmon and the like.
Try a decent camera. Camera phones are for group grope shots.

Still tough to see as Don said the focus is off, but looking at it I hesitate to say its a fly rod. Don did hit the nail on the head that it's a large quantity trade rod of some sort. It has too long a butt section and heavily built for a fly rod and it's certainly not a Spey rod. Its more like the European roach or Carping rods, I've seen a few of these over the years with the same type of rubber butt and layout. Is it fiberglass or wood. hard to tell from the pictrues

Doesn't look like split cane tonkin or calcutta, perhaps lancewood or greenheart.

Ronbill,
I don't think the rod is greenheart. The ones I've seen and own are all quite dark brown.

More than likely it is the color is right, a shame it doesn't have any makers marks, anything stamped on the metal? looks like it needs some TLC. There was a maker called Chubb, looks a lot like one of them.

I would clean up those loose threads and hang it in the mancave. Nice conversation piece.

I believe Chubb made many lancewood rods then used Calcutta cane later.

Certainly looks like Greenheart to me. This is a restoration I did, the dark colour was on the surface and disappeared after stripping it with furniture stripper although one section retained its darker colour. This rod was actually fished after the restoration.
As for age and history, really hard to tell. As Don mentioned lots of 'mass' produced rods and without any markings it would be hard to tell. Clean it up and hang it on a wall.
