WMU 300 Elk hunting

I won a draw for an Elk tag in WMU 300 this year. But I'm a little confused as to why they were giving away elk tags to 0 priority hunters. Is there something I'm missing about that it's like to hunt down there?

Can anyone who knows the area share what it's like to hunt this WMU?

Do you have permission already? If not... that’s going to be the toughest part of the hunt and the reason success is low, mostly Private land and it’s pretty locked up.

There are elk there. But will only leave waterton park if theres really bad weather that covers the food sources in the park.

If you drew an elk tag on 0 priority then you drew an Antlerless elk tag. There are undersubscribed antlerless tags in that zone every year. What season and which side A or B did you draw?
