Question Priority 17 Moose any suggestions

Been stacking up priority for years after some severe health challenges looking for a place to use a priority 17 antlered moose tag! No looking for spots WMU that offer opportunities at trophy class antlered moose. Open to all reasonable suggestions. For the 23 hours.

Thanks all!

There used to be giants around nanton and SW of nanton. Unsure if lately its the same but 306 and 402 had some smokers in it.

You would be lucky if a P17 was enough for 402 Might have to wait for another couple years

I would look northern prairie zones or east central zones.

Yea I have not looked at those stats at all. That’s sad if a 17 can’t get a guy drawn down there. There used to be giant bulls in that area is all I know.

If you have to fly then you don’t need to burn up a p17
Unless your flying to the yukon or russia

Big moose in all prairie zones.
Then again biggest one I have seen personally is 356.

203 always has dingers.

208 and 158 have bigguns.

Damn priority 17 almost comes w the expectation of a 55”.

Let us know.

Having the pressure of deciding on a high priority hunt is a bugger. Nevermind only hunting an animal in an area every decade doesn't exactly help you learn the hunt. Pull those tags! Chances are you're not going to kill a buck that will make you famous.

I'm under the impression that the hunting in Alberta is getting harder. Trophy quality, access, overall populations. I don't want to think about what another 17 years of this trend will bring.

Smile WMU SelecteD for P17 Antlered Moose!

Thanks sincerely to all. I went with what my own eyes told me and that was WMU 200 which was my final choice, Fortunately I was also able to pull my priority13 Antlered Elk in same zone which also included WMU’s 202,203,232,234 for the Antlered Elk. Seen great specimens for both in this zone so though will spend my season there.

So appreciative that I am alive to realize this huge opportunity. So looking forward to hitting it very hard starting with WMU 200 next week. Appreciate all comments. I have survived Chronic Kidney disease, next a very complicated Kidney Transplant and finally surgery to deal with Kidney Cancer this spring. These two hunts are my personal reward for years of humility, struggle and survival. All the while knowing that I have amazing supportive spouse and just imagine waiting for this opportunity to cash them in. Getting stronger every day and I can hardly wait to realize my passion again, especially with this opportunity be it with bow “my true preference” or by smoke pole, I have very high expectations and the drive to realize my goal.
