Default sims de-resonator?????

Has anybody tried this out, or are they just another gimmick? My buddy just put 1 on his gun and said it helped but he calls accuracy hitting a beer box at 100 yards! kinda makes your gun look like a mini plunger!

Somebody figured out that French ticlers sell pretty good, so figured they would try it for guns and see what happened - apparantly they do sell pretty well, but are about as useless as a French tickler on a pig!!

The last quote was by a ballistican and target shooter that was very well respected World wide......
"This post one should be taken to heart:
This subject has been beat to death since the dawn of the centerfire cartridge!
hamronics can be changed, yes.
loads can be changed, yes.
As Dick points out, the Boss system changes harmonics,as does the limbsaver.
So did the electric tuners and pressure tuners of the 30's, 40's, and 50's!
The easiest way is to handload your ammo.
Old thinking rethunk, and re-writtenabout."

The Limbsaver and the Boss, as an ammunition exec. once told me
are

Default sims

they work, Buddy of mine put one on his savage bolt 17 hmr, and cut his group in 1/2. But like the Boss system you have to play with them, and find the sweet spot. Just becuase you slip one on a barrel does not mean they work. I have seen lots of boss owners, who have never adjusted them, for the load there using. Don

The same groups could have beemn cut down by adjusting a pressure point in the stock to change the node frequency, and done a lot cheaper as well.

We all know that the harmonics of a barrel are extremely important.

We all know the harmonics of a barrel are subject to numerous variables.

Are there any suggested publications or books that cover the issue of barrel harmonics in a nice thorough way?

As long as people keep buying a product, companies will keep selling it. Companies make a lot of money selling people things that they don't need.

YUP!
This one covers EVERYTHING!!
Even down to how much screwed scope bases move when the rifle is fired!
it's a must for every serious gun nut's library.
That and "Precision Shooting at 1,000 yards " is another good one.

Please tell me how you can tell that, this rifle you never seen, had a pressure point in the stock. The point is the sims was put on the barrel and it worked.Don

The presure point was obviously in th wrong spot!!
When someone suggests something like addin pressure points , , adjusting trigers, or any other type of minor adjustments, one should not make the assumption that simply cranking on a trigger or throwing a bunch of epoy into a rifle bed to make a pressure point will work.

it is simply done, but cannot be done in a half hazard manner.
