Default Michelle lakes and the Ram river trout slam

Well we got ourselves up to Michelle lakes for the Golden trout opener and simply an overall WOW factor.
Weather was great, scenery was awesome and those Golden trout are simply beautiful and plentiful.
Then it was off to the Ram river and again the same as the Michelle lakes weather wise and scenery but the west slope cut throat are much bigger but not as pretty.
Great week fly fishing and just enjoying the great outdoors!

It’s been about 19years since I did a trip to Michelle lakes. It was definitely a trip worth doing for the experience

The males are definitely nice looking but the fish are not very big. If I remember right the biggest I caught over 4 days was just under 14inches

I don’t know about your trip but when I went there with 2 buddies it was actually pretty busy with other fishermen considering the location

Only two other groups there so was very peaceful and they were awesome people to share information with.

Looks like an awesome trip.
Did you overnight at Michelle Lakes? Lots of blow down on the lower part of the trail.
Love that country and will have to make it all the way up there some day.
Thanks for posting.

Yes we stayed at the lower lake. Lots of fish there but the upper lake we saw none rolling and caught nothing there too but had to give it a go

Open the tent door in the morning to a awesome view, sun just breaking over the mountain, dead calm crystal blue water, golden trout rolling on the surface and the sound of the waterfall.....

Awesome!
