Default GP Butcher

Well I might as well keep with the butcher theme that seems to be going on. Does anyone have a place in the GP/Hythe general area that they would recommend taking a moose to get butchered? Just planning our moose trip and looking for options.

X2 for South Wapiti meats near Grovedale. We have used them to cut and wrap elk for us.

There area few otehr places but South Wapiti is far and away the best. No waiting to get your meat in and they can cut it and give it back on fairly short notice if you aren't from around there. You also get your own meat back. Have been using them for 15 years.

Shawns' Custom meat cutting in Sexsmith did a fine job on some hogs for us this summer, we do all our wild game, but if we didn't I would give it to him.

Shawn's must be fairly new. How hard is it to get meet in there during hunting season. I know a lot of the smaller shops I need to schedule quite a ways ahead of time. If he can intake pretty quick it would save me an hour and a half return drive south of GP.

My hunting partner's been using him for 3yrs, I used his service for a moose and an elk last year. His attitude almost make it sound like he's not interested, might just be the way he is. I find him flexible for drop in and take out and does a great job,

Shawna custom meats is fantastic. He's dine a moose and a deer for me and my dad takes all of his bison there. He opened a shop in GP recently. No more trying to get turned around in his yard without tapping another truck!

I used Shawn's last year and had a good experience. Even though I dropped my phone in a pool of blood and mud there. I wouldn't use South 40 again. Deer jerky was too moist and got moldy. Sausage was disgusting, pockets of nothing but seasoning and the rest was unseasoned. Nobody in our house will eat it. Price at South 40 was almost twice what shawn charged for a deer.

Always great service from Bob at The Butcher Shop in beaverlodge.
There is also a new shop that has started up just outside of Wembley.

That's probably my buddy Mitch. He helped me butcher my chickens. Honest, hard working guy. I forgot he was doing wild game. I was there when he was setting up. PM me if you want contact info.
