Ultimate moose hunt in alberta???
I received a freshly printed WMU map delivered today from Map town. Looking at the peace region... and thinking of a meandering float / river raft / camping trip to put together a moose hunt (my first).
Anyone out there have some experiences / pics they would like to share of a similar hunt or advice if this would be a good experience hunt.
Not too concerned with the biggest moose just more the experience.
In my noodle the region would seem to be a good out of the way peaceful week long hunt.
Thoughts?

Now you are just being funny, Right!!!!
Nice and peaceful, sure.
With 455 Berley Jet Drives screaming up and down the River doing 60 or more. That is the Peace these days!!!!
Try a fly in lake with no road access, and float that. Less traffic, less competition, less chaos.

That's for sure. Not unheard of to see twenty different squirt boats a day on both the Peace and the Smoky .. worse on weekends.

Raised in Peace Country many years ago, suggest get a good quad, set up tent camp way back in the Clear hills/Notikewin river country in area with lots of moose sign. Work and hunt hard you will have a great moose hunt. Hunted moose for 60 years in Alberta on many WMU's, partner and I approaching 100 moose total so far.

Between wolves, bears and unregulated hunting moose numbers are pretty low around the Notikewin river. In a week last fall 5 of us in camp saw 2 and that was it.

Although I wasn’t able to get the ultimate moose I think we went on as close to the ultimate moose hunt that you can do in Alberta

We go every year with Dan at Andrew Lake Lodge/Reliance Airways. Pick the right lake and you will have excellent fishing and moose hunting, and you won't be running into other hunters(well, maybe at the float plane base).

Haven't been to Andrew but I've been on lots of flying moose hunts there definitely can be very nice hunting without any other Hunters around

Hey 35! Did you do the section by tall Cree toward the peace? I am reading that there are some tough waters on the southern portion. Pm me if you can or are inclined.
Looks like that's up my alley. Any more pics?

I live in PR right next to the river. Sunny summer days, yes lots of boats on Peace And Smokey myself included.
Cooler weather during hunting season not so much other then hunters, myself included.
Depends on the WMU you get for moose that decides how much river you can float. Several places to put in and take out so options are open.
