Default NDP spends 4.5 million on climate change advertising program

Omg

No one wants it, so let's spend over 4.5million on advertising and trying to convince them it's in their interest.

We should outlaw NDP threads. They are so depressing.

It's only a waste of money if you don't believe in climate change. If you do believe, it's a necessary expense. So we can dispense with bitching about this, and the carbon tax, and closing coal plants. Nobody on the forum is changing their mind about any of this. So let's talk about hunting and fishing and what's the best calibre for big game in Alberta.

Sorry, I'm suffering from excess Christmas spirit. LOL

Default Get it right...it is not advertising

When somebody "advertises" something it is for something people will want and or desire. The NDP spending 4+ million for the carbon tax and the "climate change agenda" is nothing more than PROPAGANDA....brainwashing for the masses....communist governments specialize in PROPAGANDA.

How about a Province wide vote for Albertans that says YES or NO to the carbon tax....nope the NDP would not do something as silly as that.Same as the shiny pony does not want a vote on electoral change.

Polar vortex. Now cold is caused by global warming.

Here is what the polar vortex is.

If my using a bus is causing me to freeze at the stop I am doomed.

Or so this says.

You can't argue with global warming causes everything. Rain, drought, floods, snow, blizzards, cold, hang nails

Should change the title to 8.9 million.

The NDP government is putting $4.5 million toward a new advertising campaign for its climate change plan, spending that comes on top of $4.4 million for its original promotion campaign for the environmental initiative.

I don't know why people **** and moan about politicians? That's all people ever do.

They are supposed to govern according to the will of the people, but they don't - and they know Canadians are going to bend over - take it and do nothing but complain about it.

Don't like it, get off your arse and do something about it. oh but wait, when the natives uprise and start protesting - this same bunch tells them to shut up.

I don't vote anymore - cause guess what, it doesn't matter who is running the country or the provinces. They are in it for themselves.

Enjoy the decline.

I am tending to agree with you more and more...but I still vote. Seeing Trump get elected gave me a sliver of hope. Maybe. We'll see. Not betting the farm yet.

But anyway. Back to the NDP using their fattest MP to step on our throat with the biggest boot they have when our economy is stalled...

Why, when so many Albertans are taking pay cuts or getting laid off right now (not including government employees of course) would the NDP feel it necessary to not only impose increased taxes on the working men and women of Alberta, but to spend/waste money on advertising telling us they are going to hammer us for driving SUV's and trucks while THEY are driving SUV's and trucks that we pay for and the fuel for them, AND the GD carbon tax on them as well? They are punishing US for decisions THEY are making that goes strictly against their own religion. Bunch of sadistic twits.

SJMFASCIADACOTOV!!!

(My apologies for my rantastic run-on sentence)

Your a bright guy (at times) . This is all about an income shift and vote buying. Take from those that are working and give to those in a lower income level to buy their votes for the next election. I already have friends that are counting on the rebate checks coming from the NDP not thinking through that it is coming from my pocket.

Or are they just not caring that it is coming from your pocket? Just another product of a socialist society.

Because the wealthy, business and industry will not support them if they do otherwise.

People seem to forget that worst was promised by the PC's who got us into this mess. It wouldn't matter who you voted for you were always going to be the one that would have to pay.

and pay and pay and pay, until the people wake up and ask why they, their government, is in debt when we have more valuable resources per capita than any other nation and then decide to change the game, not just the players.

Because, as you suggested, they determine almost everything but do not answer to us. Those complaining have tried voting, some succeeded at changing the players, changing the government, only to notice that it doesn't change the game.

So they complain and complain, just as the French did before they stormed the Bastille.

I am pleased to see that the comments on this article are an indication that there is still some sanity among the general public. The odd wingnut of course.
