Cleaning supplies/procedures seem to vary from guy to gal to guy.......

I've got a Kleen Bore thread together rod so it can be broken down to fit into a small case that I keep all my cleaning supplies in.

For something a bit different, check out WipeOut foaming bore cleaner.....I really like this stuff, easy to use and minimizes rod time.

Default Cleaning Items

I use a J. Dewey one piece coated rod for my .17HMR and .22's and a Gunslick one piece coated for my other guns and a Delrin bore guide. I use brass jags and bronze brushes also. J. Dewey has a great site with pretty much everything you need and you can order online. For juice I like Butch's Bore Shine.

Dewey coated rod and brass jag.

1. Put a few patches of Butch's bore shine and let sit for 10 minutes, then run a few patches through.
2. Apply Wipe Out to barrel and let sit 4 hours. Run a few patches through..any blue ?
3. If some blue on the patches, apply Wipe Out again and let sit over night.
4. Patch clean and done.
