Default Blackfoot Grazing Reserve success

Good day to all. The time might be coming again next year to strap on the boots and hit the trails in the Blackfoot looking for a cow moose. Have not hunted in there for 5 plus years now as the moose numbers took a hit with the tick population soaring back then. Just wondering to the folks who still hunt there if the sightings have been up and if the harvest was good the last few years. Planning on going skiing there this winter to check it out, but all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all and all the best in 2020!

pop into the staging area and chat with f&w. Theyll happily discuss numbers and how this years harvests have gone. Their more then helpful to those wanting specific info.

230-250 km on foot this year. Got my bull elk. Did not see one single moose and very few tracks. At the orientation they said in last winters aerial count they found 160-170 moose.

Best guess is the treaty hunters get the easy young ones in sept/oct...whatever’s left stick to the bush. Now would be a great time to get in there and find the wintering areas.
