Default Nostalgic Cooey Model 84

Good morning ladies and gentlemen!

My name is Lee and I was born and still live on the South coast of England, UK...Portsmouth to be precise.

I'm 46 years of age and am a professional pest and vermin controller.

I bought my first Cooey shotgun (an 84) when I was 17-years of age and like a fool, sold it in my early twenties!

Well, for the past 20 or so years I've bought and used literally dozens and dozens of shotguns, both for work and pleasure. However, none of them have felt quite like that old Cooey 84.

Today, out of nostalgia as much as anything, I've been on Gunstar UK and bought two Cooey 84's (not 840's).

I've bought a 20-gauge and a 410 gauge and intend to put them to good use in my daily work.

I am looking to restore these fine old guns as well as to use them regularly.

I'm obviously keen to find out their age, but as you guys all know, this sort of thing is tricky! I've also tried to buy a book on Cooey's, such as John Belton's book, "Cooey Firearms Made In Canada" but have not been able to find a stockist over here! :-(

Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Lee.

Welcome to the forum! Pm or look for Griz358 on this and gunnutz forum; he is the resident 'cooey' wizard around here.
