Default Dalemead Lake

Has anyone hunted ducks/geese on Dalemead Lake? Is it a busy spot for hunters?

Thanks!

The pond just to the south of Dalemead you mean? Never seen a hunter on that one.....we own land right there and there are usually some geese around.....is that the one you're talkin about?

It has been awhile (5 or 6 years0since I hunted there but when I did it was very busy on weekends with many sky busters. The birds tended to come in high and land in the middle of the lake.

Some folks were using boats to get to the islands in the middle of the lake. They used the access point on the south end of the lake off of 22X.

You might do better on weekdays with decoys and someone who knows how to call.

What I would like to know about Dalemead is: "Are there any fish in there?"

good luck

Richard

Thanks Guys.

Yup talking about the one just off of 22x.

I just moved to the south end of the city from the north and looking for a few spots close by to go before work during the week. I have a few of my weekend places that I will still go to.

I drove by on Monday and saw a group of people fishing. (I think the only thing that you would catch there are pike).

I am a good caller and have a wack of deks. I just hate hunting 50 yards from someone. On Google earth it looks like a fairly large size pond.

That’s kind of what I thought. I bought a couple of MD maps from Maptown today. going to go for a little drive this weekend see what I can line up for the south end. I had some nice close land when I lived up north. it was great to get up and have a morning shoot before work.
