Default Dang, Western Gun Parts have changed.

For the better I must say. It used to be a few years ago that I dreaded calling them for parts. But for the past couple of years, what a nice experience it is to deal with them. I've recently ordered more parts and the fellow on the order desk was really pleasant to deal with. The ladies in shipping have always been. I ordered parts 2 days ago, and they got here today. I'm blown away and very pleased with the service and reception. Very happy.

And if they can keep smiling when having to deal with you, they must really be something.

Sorry Gitr', it was just too easy.

Hey, no problem Oky. I know what you refer to and accept it with a smile.

Default Yup

Agree, it used to feel like I was really bothering them when placing orders. Other day the woman on the line was great! Unfortunately their triggers just aren't priced well enough lately.

Default Ruger parts

I recently needed a bolt handle/recoil guide /spring assembly for a 10/22.

I contacted WGP and gasped at the price they wanted.

I contacted Ruger in the USA and they told me about "Snapshots" out of Quebec. Called them and it was shipped the same day.

I had the OEM part in a week at half the price of WGP.

This is why WGP smiles when they see a customer , and when the customer leaves they start to laugh as they sold it for twice for what its worth .

The person I spoke with had excellent English and was very helpful. Ruger USA told me they were the authorized warranty for Ruger in Canada now. I see they are also the warranty dealer for Taurus and Rossi too !

I have seen a few threads about cranky service at WGP. Personally, I have been dealing there for 40 years and I have always had GREAT service from Western Gun parts. Glad this is now the majority opinion.

I will also say that some of their parts are not that cheap but most of what I have bought from them was impossible to find anywhere else. When you have the only Unicorn you get to charge what you want. I have however found many common parts there at what I considered reasonable prices but you can't compare Alberta retail pricing anywhere to ordering out of the States. WS, P&D and Prophet River are all great stores and they are all much more expensive than ordering out of the States.

I still believe in supporting the local alternatives, even if it costs me a little more.
