Confused w Supp W/Tail Tags vs. Regs

Looking for advice...

Two Supplimentary W/Tail tags are issued at purchase but the WMU's printed on the 2 tags do not match the WMU's in the regulations. I would suspect I go by what is in the regulations and not on the tags???

There is even some WMU overlap too. For example, in the regulations it says use tag #1 in 310, 312, 314, 322-357 & 360. use tag #2 in 334-357 & 360. See what I mean?

Can anyone explain which tag to use if in WMU 347?

The overlap is because you can use either or both of those tags in some WMU's....In 347, you can use both those tags and shoot 2 antlerless deer.

As far as discrepancies between the regs and tags...I would contact F&W...or perhaps Rob can shed some light....

you can use both in that zone. I have to double check this myself but I think you have use the 1st tag before you can use up the 2nd tag. So if you plan to just use up one the the supp tags you have to use the first tag. you will have a "-1" or a "-2" at the end of all the numbers on the tag.

Ya, I would check......but I do not think you need to use the #1 tag first....Because the #1 tag is valid in zones the #2 tag isn't.....you could fill the #2 tag first before you hunted a zone the #1 tag is valid.

So in the case where you are hunting in a zone where both tags are valid....It shouldn't matter which tag you fill (use) first....

I just called F&W and confirmed that you do not have to use the two Supp w/Tail tags in any particular tag order. This makes sense because I will also be in WMU 324 later in the season after 347.

So in WMU 347, tag #1 &/or tag #2 can be used
So in WMU 324, only tag #1 can be used

Thanks for clearing that up. one less thing to reveiw before the season starts for me.
