Default tent heat

Any kind of heat apparatus in a tent needs a chimney to get rid of moisture and poison gases.

I have a new idea for a home made propane tent heater with a chimney that could be made with the burner and thermostat control from a water heater.

The burner would hang in the bottom of my 5 gallon stove/chimney that I have posted before.

I would then have full 100% saftey shut off. The thermostat part of the controler that threads into the water tank could be threaded into a pipe coupling and placed close to the stove to make the thermostat operate dry. Or threaded into a small water tank placed against the stove.

It will be a while before I try out the idea because I am cheap and like to burn wood.

Yep you got it, usual runs for about an hour, with the full length fly the tent will stay warm for quite awhile.

Don't forget about the rocks!!

Have a steady fire throughout the nice until its bed time. Rocks the size of your head should be pre-heatted and turned beside the fire all night. When it is time for bed, wrap up the rock(s) in towels, and sleep with them in your sleeping bag. It will retain heat the entire night, keeping you nice and toasty =)

Used this technique many times before... It works extremely well!
