Everybody has such great pics! And they are all so cute... makes me want another dog.
My dog is named Halo. He's the best dog I've ever had. Amazing temperament, very smart and easy to train. He travels with me everywhere, and has since he was a pup. When my father had a heart attack, I had no one to watch him, so he and I lived in my truck in the hospital parking lot in Regina for a few days. Sixteen hour truck ride between Winnipeg and Pincher Creek? No problem - no whining, no panting. He's just happy to be there.
I've always worked from home since I got him, so he's never had to be left alone, which I think is part of why he's so well-socialized. But when I do have to leave for the day, he's fine. Hasn't had an accident in the house since he was three months old and doesn't chew things he isn't supposed to anymore either. (He's two years old now.)
Mom was pure bred and registered chocolate lab hunting dog. Father was a husky mix that got in the yard... He comes from northern Saskatchewan. I really have no idea what's all in his mix, but I'd love to get him tested.
He's definitely got the retrieving instinct and I think I could get him to go duck and goose hunting with me with some training.
Anyway, he's absolutely my best friend. The last two years have had some challenges, and he's been rock solid through it all!
As a eight-week-old:
By the water:
Walked in our old kitchen one day to find my son and the dog totally crashed out on the floor:
And this pic, I just love:

Can somebody please tell me how to post pics instead of just the link. I am computer stupid. If you've ever seen Zoolander, then you have an idea how inept I am.

This old girl has is on her third buddy, and second puppy to irritate and harass her. And she loves most every minute of that, amazing tolerance with pups. Got her from the pound, she was a natural on ground birds. Loves to hunt.
She is about 11 or 12 now, but, still had the will, to teach the young one to pursue a bird in horrble heavy cover, no quit in her. She even retrieved a duck a couple of weeks ago, a first for her. Call her Yo. Not sure what she is made from, completely curly coat.
And then there is The Twirp---Tucker, picked him up in May at two months, graduated to retrieving geese last week. He'll be 8 mos next wk. And I have Yo to thank for teaching him a lot of good behaviour, but, still be a nut.
