Default Ford EcoBoost

I'm impressed with this truck, my first Ford. I have a 2.7 litre EcoBoost engine in my 2016 F150. I have 1000 lbs of engine oil pails in the box and this is the mileage I'm getting going to fox creek. I have zero complaints, coming out of a 5.7 litre Tundra the difference is mind boggling.

You can't be going to Fox Creek, your speedo says you are doing under 120 kph, and we both know that every pickup on hwy 43 has to go at least 140....but that is good mileage for sure.

True and we all hope a passenger took the picture.

Looks correct. Back off to 100 km. Then can receive 9.5/100km. Normal city 13.5 l/100k. Decent little truck. Smaller feel than big diesel. Hard give up diesel torque. Addictive.
Congrats.

I hear reports of this mileage, but everybody I know who owns one gets 14.5-15.5 L/100K.

So did we - But we did get less than 10l/100km at one point, driving 90-95 km/h for several hours.

Some of the discrepancies are differences in configuration - 2wd vs. 4wd, supercrew vs. reg. cab, differential ratio etc. These are all factors that can affect the mileage you will get..

And of course, driving style/habits make a difference as well. I found I typically got better mileage when I was driving, vs. those who like to "put their foot into it".

and once factory tires get changed out can cause quite the change also, depending on what they are changed to

My friends 08' Expedition was showing 7l/100km one day, he was driving slow through construction though, downhill. Hope the mileage your getting stays there, not everyone is getting that good.

Tested out my 2014 Silverado crew cab yesterday on a trip to Lethbridge and back to Medicine Hat. 115 km ph it averaged 11.7 for the round trip. Its a 5.3. A big improvement over my 2012.

Nice mileage, but I'm always skeptical of the computer calculated mileage. My hand calculations are always off from what my truck says and my friends have said the same. Not sure if vehicles don't factor in idling or what...

Putting on 34.5" heavy tires kind of killed the mileage on mine. But worth it compared to the stock Pirelli's

I thought those 20" Pirelli's were initially junk. However after 60k. They have proven a quality tire. Gravel, road, winter. No issues. Still lot tread left.

Do an actual fuel mileage calculation on the whole tank and you will likely discover that the computer is skewed in favor of Fords wishful thinking .
I have a friend who just traded his 2014 eco boost in for a 2016, 6 ltr Chevy and says he is actually getting the same or better fuel economy but can pull his Trailer without his foot on the floor.

Agree !
My 6 litre GM 4x4 3/4 ton got better Milage than my new F150 4x4 Eco-Lie in comparable conditions, the new Ford Eco-Lie is now in the used back row at a car lot , cost me about $28,000 to own that pos for about a year,,,

For sure - they weren't terrible until they got into any mud/slush. I think I got 65k out of mine. Wanted something a little more off road friendly. First winter coming up on these KO2s so hopefully they do well.

They take the biggest depreciation when you drive them off the lot so you'll find that with any pickup that you only own for one year.

True mpg if you get a true reading on the gas pump. Remember volume is corrected to 15 degrees. I've also seen gas pumps that have certification stickers that are up to 5 years old.

I'm pretty sure with modern fuel injection the computer knows exactly how much fuel your using.

I've calculated mileage and compared it to computer read out. Very close to the same.

I had a misfire on mine. I fixed it for about 60.00 bucks.
I have found my Eco is very sensitive to weight in the truck, wind and hills.
Overall I am happy with it. Its a 7500-pound truck so I have no illusions about getting Prius like mileage.

funny how all the brand fanboys come in to the thread to bash ford. Always, inevitable.

I have a 2016 3.5 Lariat Ecopoof too, and am happy with the mileage. My lifetime avg is 12.8 with 21500 km since March. I just went to Edmonton and back (speed limit) and averaged 11.8 doing the math filling from lid to lid, computer read 12.0. I am happy with the little truck, quite comfortable and a decent ride.

I drove this truck (empty except for me and the kids) from Edmonton to Qualicum Beach on the island. I filled up (136 liter tank) at home, drove to the Island, hwy 16 to hwy 5 to the ferry and across to Nanaimo then to Qualicum in one day. I put in 120 liters in Qualicum (1267 kms) drove around the island a bit then drove home via the same route. I put in 130 liters in Stony Plain (1390 kms). That is better than 10 liters per 100 km's and real mileage. Completely unattainable in my Tundra, I did love the roar of the 5.7 though....

LOL I don't know how long ago that was but 3 years ago I got a brand new 4x4 extended cab with a 5L for $28000 plus gst. The truck has been great for the past 120000kms. To break even with you I could just throw it into the dump!

On another note my new Dodge 3/4 ton with a 5.7 Hemi is getting 26L per 100kms in town.... break out the sliding trombone....Whaaa whaa wahh Whhaaa...

Ken I've been called a lot of things but never a fan boy. I have owned em all and they are all crap in one form or another . I just have a couple of friends with the ecoboosts and while they like em I was never overly impressed by them . I currently have a GMC and to be honest it's nothing to write home about either.Reliable though, so I guess that's something.

Funny I had a 2011 Jeep Wrangler that got 11 to 12 kph and I was choked at the poor fuel economy . guess I didn't know what I had there .Hated that clunker too but wifey liked it so it stayed around for a while

Decent mileage for sure! What's your set up Ken? Crew cab 4x4?

Coming back from Canmore a few years back my display read 9.8 l/100 in my 2005 dodge 2500 diesel. I found actual mileage always to be about 10% more than displayed. Still pretty good for a diesel though. My newer dodge (2010 which is new to me) can get down to 10 or less if I'm driving 90. 110 kph and empty usually finds me at around 12l/100 on the highway.
