Default Ski bows!!! Super neat

Soo after exploring Facebook for a bit I came across these...ski bows!!! Apparently if you make them right they can have a pull of 60lbs and a draw length of 28"...planning on making a couple next week and I'll post how they turn out...I'll post the link on how to make them if anyone wants to know

That's a damn good idea, never even thought of something like that.

This looks like a good way to put my old cross country skis to use.

Default Ski bows

Well I suppose it can't be any worse than a PVC bow, those wide thick limbs would be pretty slow I think. But for the tinkerers among us it seems like a fun project

That is VERY cool. I plan on making some for the archery club and kids - should be very affordable. Wouldn't it b e something to take an animal with one? kind of like catching a fish with your own fly. Now we need to make arrows out of ........(tent poles?)....

Possible , yes , practical not realy. No doubt you can make something to launch an arrow , and as for this guy's recommended string material, Nylon twine??? That speaks volumes .

Sounds like an awesome project going into winter. Great way to use the old skis in the corner of the garage. Thanks for the idea!

Can't even imagine how much it weights! Imagine chasing elk in the foothills with that. Pretty neat though and a great conversation piece!
