Default How's everyone liking their new Helix

Just picked up a new Helix 9 SI and I'm just wandering how people are liking their new units. This should be a huge upgrade from my old lowrance Mark 5x portable lol. Looking forward to getting it hooked up and on the water soon.

Mine is alright. The pre installed maps suck. My autochart live only works with the map zoomed out quite a ways, making it kinda useless

I thought they were going to be the best thing since sliced bread but was disappointed with my buddies as it lags when trying to scroll on screen and only loads a very small portion of map(can't look at map a couple kms from where you are fishing). So either he needs to change something or Humminbird needs to improve the technology before I will bother to get one.

Hahaha it's not the great reviews I was hoping for, man I might be running back and returning the bugger.

I have a Helix 9 SI on my boat and got it out last week for the first time. I haven't played with the SI and DI much, but it reads the bottom accurately at 48 mph and I like the autochart. I have the Zero Lines card and a Navionics card. The base maps do suck for Canada and the Navionics isn't much better. I like the Autochart and it seemed to be doing the trick for me. I'm coming from a Lowrance HDS7 Gen 1.

I wonder what's up with this, I'm hoping I can find out if we just have the unit set up wrong .

Got to try out my helix 10si last night. All in all I like it a lot so far. I found it pretty easy to use and it's leap years ahead of what I'm use to using . I did have trouble with the auto chart like others mentioned. It seems like you can only see it when the screen is zoomed way out. The lake I was fishing wasn't every on the screen so that sucked . Actually I'm surprised they are selling us units with only American lakes, hopefully they have an update for this issue. I do have a backroads chip for my GPS and it has fairly decent lakes of Alberta on it and I think I might try it in the unit and see if it will work. As far as the unit works though it performed great and the side imaging is something else. I haven't used the di to much but it will be useful I'm sure. I'm going to have a look to see if there is any software updates right away though .

Ive put mine through the paces now and can say its awesome.

Autochart is smooth and all the menus work easy and smooth no issues.

The side imaging power on this thing is ridiculous.

Awesome unit.
