Default McLeod river yellowhead county

Just got back from montana did some river fishing on the flathead river had a great time catching some cut throats!
It was my first time ever fishing a river on the fly and I'm addicted!

Now I was hearing good things about the McLeod river, my question is, is anyone willing to give up a few productive spots on the river?
If not can someone direct me in a good general area to start?

I live in edmonton and to my understanding it is one of the closest productive trout rivers closest to edmoton right now?

Thanks guys I appreciate it

Pick up the new backroads map book, Barry Mitchell's Trout highway book or Jim mclennans Trout streams of Alberta book and have at it . I drove down between Edson and Robb a couple of weekends ago and caught a good number of fish within 400 meters of where I parked on a couple of streams, and I did not drive farther than 5 minutes off the main road: Of course I tried these areas before and caught nothing. An extra year of experience was really helpfull.
Make sure you read the regulations too, there are a few closures in the area as well.

Awesome, thanks I'm slowly starting to realize why people won't give up their fishing spots on rivers haha

Goes the same way in montana if I have to explore and find it myself you have to too!

The Edmonton Public Library I think has Mitchell's book and an older edition of Jim's book I think as well as a couple of other books of fly fishing in Alberta. Best part is the library card is free.
I have been thinking of Whitecourt as well but the road to Edson is much better.
I went out on the long weekend, the first couple of bridges on highway 47 had two vehicles each parked by them when I was leaving. I assume they did ok.
Any stream that shows up on the map in the regs is probably worth a few minutes of your time.
