Tired of dining out in the city?
This place would be a nice change from dining in urban restaurants. Where else can you watch cows and horses graze while you dine?

$125 for dinner? Just so you can smell cow shyt?
Probably better to have that on the edge of Calgary. Lots of City folks would be happy as all get up for that experience. Is there enough high flouting folks in Edmonton to support this?
However a great country style place is Big Sky BBQ outside of Okotoks. Awesome grass patio overlooking the foothills. Amazing place actually.

Didn't realize it was so expensive. I do like the concept of local foods and meats prepared in a country setting.

It’s actually $140 with fees and gst. I guess that tip is on top of it. That is per person. For a 4 course meal that is way too much money. I don’t think it includes any alcohol.
Oh and for $10 extra you can come and smell the cows in person, lol!

Been there twice, about 6 months apart. To be honest, we were not impressed at all! The food was good but not WOW and the waiter was kind of a dick.... Didn’t like his attitude at all. Reminded me a French waiter in France...
We found them way overpriced for what they have to offer.
Next time try Almanac on Whyte ave, the place is run by the same guys who had the Solstice restaurant on a 124 street.

Happens here every day and a lot cheaper. Only drawback is, I got to do the dishes.

While traveling we make it a point N0T to eat at any city restaurants. We always seek out small town restaurants. Good food, the waiters, often the owners take the time to actually talk to you. You will often find out interesting things and places in the area, and sometimes even local hunting/fishing tips. The best part is spending my money in a small town. These days they have it tough to survive, and they therefore appreciate your business.

For those south of Calgary or willing to drive, Silver Slate Arena has a good steakhouse. Northwest of Stavely off hwy 2. Check their website as not open full Monday to Sunday. Reasonable prices.

A few years back, I started going to different golf courses to go out for dinner. Most decent golf courses have GREAT menus and they usually have excellent views from the patios. Need to do that again soon

My pack-rat live in truck has the full rigging to eat on the road or off grid.
I call it the $5 buck frugal. LOL.
Always pack your own fixings and save the funds for the good times in the wilds...
Critter dropping are nice to camp beside. LOL

Longview Steakhouse is quite the place. Best reviews and if you would like to eat there make a reservation a couple months in advance.
