Looks frozen except the edges. This website has satellite images every 3 days and is great for figuring out ice on/off. Check it out.

I hope there are some good size fish in there this year. Haven’t bothered with it since it winter killed a few years ago. How did guys make out last year?

Last year was really bad. They were to do a bunch of water testing this winter, I do not know how that turned out. I heard some rumblings on an aerator as well.

I think if I am going to drive 3 hours I’ll just go into BC and have some fun. To depressing to drive that far for nothing.

Second hand info....

A guy over on the Fly Fusion board posted that he was out last Sunday and that the lake was roughly 2/3 ice free. He said between 3 of them they had no action, and talked to a couple other guys who said the same thing, but that there were no obvious signs of winter kill.

Bullshead I would say is still a write off. Landed one fish in 5 hrs. Parking lot was empty. Saw a few fish rise. Not driving to Bullshead until it has aeration. No evidence of any winter kill. Water was pretty merky. Nothing really hatching. Might improve once it warms up a bit but looks rough.

Could be, ice is freshly off. Having said that, last year was very poor.

It will probably get better in a couple of weeks but it’s not going to be like the Bullshead of 3 years ago. That’s for sure.
