Default My last day ice fishing was the best, thank you mighty Fish Gods!

Here was my day on Saturday at Lake X....not only was the weather spectacular but now my trophy collection is complete (oh I can see the trolls charging at me now lol but whatever these fish cannot reproduce in this water system and my continual money contributions to the fisheries paid for them) Now when I return there at another day, all will be photoed and released for someone else to enjoy catching, I have what I have been hunting for nearly ten years now to be proudly displayed on my wall with my other great trophy species and memories. I can't wait to airbrush these beauties and replicate those amazing colors. I will post the finished mounts when I have them done in a few months.

Thank you good sir, like I said I have been on the big brown hunt 4ever, caught and released so many smaller ones and refuse to keep any stream fish as they are the reproducers, so finally the fish gods have smiled on me Have a gooder!

I have caught n released more fish than you probably have ever caught in your life. I release nearly ever fish I catch my friend, this is like a deer head mounted in nearly everyone's game room. As I stated in my post, they cannot reproduce due to being in a stocked fishery which as I stated my $ contributions pay for. It was my choice on this matter and I fish many different streams, rivers across western Canada that I am allowed to keep fish but do not, I take a picture and release them. So after nearly ten years of trying to catch "MY trophy" I did, and chose to keep them, eat the meat after skinning them out and not wasted anything from them. I practice taxidermy and more often than not order replicas for most however I know for a fact this fishery is loaded with fish and is a unknown secret place that will not get destroyed by greedy anglers. I had a choice of taking my limit but did not, released probably a dozen like those that day and kept the 3 for my wall. Now I have my brown and rainbow species for my collection, I will move on to finding ONE nice brookie. As I stated before I will release others in future at Lake X because I now have my trophies. My choice not yours.....how many 10 lb + walleye have you or others released at Calling Lake back when it was allowable to keep one any size? Answer that please. I kept one only out of at least a dozen in that weight class or larger, took a picture and released them for others to catch. So please don't play that sympathy card with me dude and enjoy the pictures I posted...its no wonder why many don't post pictures on here cause comments like yours. Thank you everyone else for the comments, happy fishing everyone!

Congrats on the fish! I know nothing about taxidermy but think a lot higher of it now that you posted that you still ate the meat and nothing goes to waste. Awesome catch, awesome meal, and I'm sure will be awesome on your wall.

Great fish keep 6, congrats! You have every right to take and mount your prize!

I know that I sit in our layout blinds and watch the ducks land at our feet, just to enjoy the spectacle, and pick and choose beautiful full plumage birds to fill our limit. Your approach is no different.

Congrats again on some beautiful fish, and some great memories to hang on the wall!
