What do the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton oilers have in common?

They only have 1 less playoff win this year than the Calgary flames

This year finishing first in the conference has been the kiss of death. Cudos to the underdogs I guess.

Pre season means nothing. Avs were 17th in the league. 5 games into the real season and they will be no worse than 8th.

Makes you wonder if clinching early, and not making a difference if you win or loose that last couple weeks of the season, hurts more than scrapping to the bitter end and keeping that momentum going...

Yep Flames make the playoffs, and the Oilers miss the playoffs.
Maybe next season we both have a go..

Still looking to see a Jersey thrown on the Ice....

I got nothing...

As well, Trade Smith. Someone will want him and pay for him.

You know you had a good year when you play 5 more games than a Shiite team.

Making the playoffs is a hell of a accomplishment . It shows that you are in the top 16 teams in the entire world. However, it is a different game. One that needs to be learnt.

We have a good organization filled with loyal fans. No shame here no matter what happens. You won't see jerseys being thrown or burnt. You won't see season tickets not being renewed. We have classy fans that fit with a classy team. I am sure we are the envy of many a franchise.

Good season.
Now lets see a come back!!
I am glad ur happy. The best players and so called leaders of the team showed no try and emotion. That’s concerning. The so called Norris defenceman showed no leadership and looked below average. Goaltending is another issue. To be upset and blown out by a 8 place team shows some major character flaws.

The way the Flames have fizzled in the playoffs is exactly the reason I lost interest in hockey long ago. Remember when the Oilers had a near perfect season only to be destroyed in the playoffs by the lowely LA Kings? I nearly lost my mind that night I was soooo mad . Then I realized.. I have no skin in the game I am wasting my time and stress on a bunch of overpaid kids chasing a rubber puck around . I never bothered much with it since then.

Sure it's fun to watch watch the rivalry between the fans but honestly ,to what end? Paying a couple hundred hard earned dollars to go see if some primadonna millionaire kids are gonna show up or not is pretty bad investment in my mind . A guy can do a lot of fishing and hunting for the price of a couple games and a few $10 beers

So who we all got going forward? Asking all fans, Oilers and Flames since neither of us got a dog left in the fight..

If it wasn't for Laine I would say Jets and for Canadian teams it's them, but I do like Vegas's game. Wouldn't mind seeing them back in the finals.

Another question is who goes next year? Neal, Brodie,? Goalies were ok but good enough for both to come back or we go after a sure #1??

Fair points for sure, just have to hope Tre and Peters, make the proper adjustments so next year when we are back in the playoff, we got what it takes to make it further. Definitely a huge disappointment after such an amazing regular season.

Flames had a great season and like always... all bets are off in the playoffs. Looking forward to another BOA season next year.

I still would love to see a Canadian team bring the cup home. Jets are my first pick but I will even cheer for the Leafs.

Go Canada Go!

I found this somewhat interesting, of the top 10 players in the NHL during the regular season, all 95+ point guys, two are still playing.

Bummer.
Calgary needs a deep run. We all do.

Next year boys. BOA round one. I’m sure of it.

I'm sure the bar's on the Red Mile were hoping for a longer run to help pay the Spendshi tax man.

It's a shame to do so well all season, and lose out in the first round, but at least they made the playoffs, many teams didn't even get that far.
