Default Coyotes in groups

Went out this morning for a quick coyote hunt before I had to go to work at noon.
I remembered reading a thread here the other day about coyotes pairing up for mating now and thought to myself,

"I haven't seen more than 2 coyotes together, all season..."

Well today, in the span of ~45 minutes, I came across two packs of 4 and a pack of 5 dogs.
Saw a couple loners too, but this is the 1st time since I got my 1st double last year that I've seen more the 2 coyotes together (4 came in to the FoxPro)...

Seeing 15 coyotes within an hour is a new "record" for me. And all but 2 were on property I have permission on, but they were all in the middle of 2 different stubble fields - each a quarter section in size. (5 & 4 in one field, 4 in the other)

All but the one group of 4 took off as soon as I got within 1000m, but I had stopped then backed-up out of sight - so they didn't move far before bedding down.

Anyone else seeing packs of 4+ coyotes ?

Could be that one in each group is a hot female. Might of missed the first time around, and now has some males in hot pursuit?

I’ve only seen 2 but the wife saw 3 running through our yard the other day. Once I get my suppressor I’ll be resolving that situation! I don’t mind them passing through but I had one walk right up the drive a couple weeks back mid day while I was cutting plywood with my table saw. Got 20’ from me and just sat there and watched. Not normal behavior...

Wish we could get suppressors in Canada.

Not gonna happen in this country, I hate to say probably not even with the Conservatives. you see our hearing isn't that important to politicians, and most people consider guns " evil" so to them a suppressor only makes it more so -- to the uneducated.

I’ve seen it quite a few times. I’ve seen a group of 5 twice.

Gets your adrenaline pumping when you call and see them all get up and charge together as a pack!

Saw 5 within a hundred yards of each other yesterday. In an open field adjacent to the TransCanada Highway west of Calgary.

Depending on the area and situation coyotes will often pack up. I have had 2 instances now where I have killed 5 from one spot.
Very rarely do I see more than 4 in a group but I have seen up to 9.
