Question for those who use Wipe-Out
On the can, it says this:
'Do not put oil in the bore. Wipe-Out contains a powerful anti-corrosive that prevents rust.'
Do you guys who use this stuff follow that advice?

I clean with wipe out, then dry patch , do nothing if I intend to shoot fairly soon ( 1-2 weeks). If the rifle will not be shot or stored for awhile it gets G96 patch thru it.

Yup, pretty much the same routine here too.

I haven't used anything but Wipeout for years and never an issue. Even storage for a few months on some rifles as long as the last patch out of the barrel is clean.

So, I've seen that many members suggest leaving Wipeout in the bore overnight. Can someone go through how to do that, please? Just wet patch some in, or squirt it down the muzzle?

It's a foam
Easy to waste a bunch if you overdo it. I've left mine overnight. Not much different than an hour. Clean is clean. By the time you run the dry patch I'm shocked to see anything on the patch after an hour.

I used a bore guide that does not have a solvent port (Possum Hollow bore guide) and squirt it in until it comes out the muzzle. Block off the muzzle and bore guide with foam ear plugs and let sit horizontal. I'll turn it over a few times over the course of 24 hours or whatever.

I set my rifle up in a padded gun vice so it's level. Remove the bolt, and insert a bore guide(cheap MTM guide is ok)
I foam the bore from the muzzle. The first couple times make sure you put a rag on the comb of the stock so the excess foam will drip onto the rag from the bore guide.
I'm to the point now that I foam the bore, let the foam expand, pull the boreguide back and watch the foam start to expand into the chamber, slide the boreguide back and let it sit till morning or afternoon.

X2, I will start with butches or hoppes benchrest to work on some carbon, and sometimes do another one in between the wipeout if I'm getting lots of dirty patches. 2 patches of G96 5min apart for last, then a clean one if gonna use it if not leave it in.
I also use patch out now, don't miss the foam all over the place way easier. I also think when the foam "melts" then all the stuff sits at the bottom of the barrel. On real dirty rifles I used to let sit and rotate 90deg every application but not with patch out.

I use wipe out and patch out with the accelerator. After i dry patch the bore i run a wet patch of eezox followed by a dry patch. This has given me really nice cold bore shots compared to a completely dry barrel. I don't do the eezox for added protection since the wipeout has that already. Not to mention i run stainless barrels. It's mostly for a barrel lube and to give that consistent cold bore shot. For the carbon steel barrrel guys, eezox has some of the best protection out there. The salt water corrosion tests were quite impressive. And it has a pleasant smell

i agree with altaboy too.
premium product as far as i can tell.
i use a foamy ear plug to put in the muzzle to prevent it from exiting during the cooking time. a also slip a plastic bottle over the muzzle and push patches into it. it has had its way with the arbourite on my counterl

All my firearms get cleaned with WipeOut and I have never put anything else down the bore after. Why? Because the instructions say you don't need to.
Never an issue.
Mic drop!
