Default wolf pics

This is what i caught a large male wolf on the 23 0f dec 2009 in a lynx cubby under a large spruce. The trap was a number 3 belisle 4 coil spring held him.Caught him by the front toes he was tangled up in some willows.Had to down size my pics to get them to upload.Had a coyote come to my lynx cubby before but never got him.The wolves and coyotes on my trapline are wild any human tracks and they get wise fast.

That is a gorgeous coloured wolf.
Don, I know nothing about trapping so please take my question as just that, a question.
You say you caught him by the toes? did you have to dispatch him when you got there or was it already dead? how long do you leave your trapline for at a time?
Thanks

Default 450 marlin

I was packing a 450 marlin on a skidoo 10 miles out.I was not going back for a lighter gun so i shot him through the ribs.10years ago I killed a bigger black one than this one ,2 shots from a 7mm in a cutblock no pics on that one.three winters back i was waiting on old moose track when i saw a black wolf running up a hill 3oo yards off, shot missed with 223.Then another big black wolf was running straight at me in poplars at about 40 feet .I aimed for the neck and hit a tree, he turned and ran to my skidoo trail stopped and looked back at me,and i tried to line up on him but he took off, i had open sights. Then i saw another black wolf but he was too far.He was already close to cover so i did not try a shot.I check them every day
