I'm curious if anyone is going to make any changes to their trapping this season due to the current state of the market.

There won't be any change to what I do this season but a few Trappers that I've heard from have said that they will make adjustments. IMO there's still good value for our coyotes with 100% clearances and beaver, especially the castor, did pretty good for me as well. With a $2.78 average for my rats I won't be trapping them in the Fall and will wait until Spring.

My prices for buying whole coyotes will have to drop for sure.

A lot of guys out this way (Southern fur block Saskatchewan) dropping out of the coyote trapping, selling equipment off I guess this time will separate the die hards from the only trapping because of the check trappers. Not concerned about the impact not trapping coyotes will do to the environment wether it’s livestock or wildlife. Works out good for me I am able to stock up on more gear.

Sounds to me like people just need to either open their eyes or expand their horizons a little. Dont quit, just change your business plan. Its a no brainer

Alberta Al, actually it probably does not matter if guys are quoting US or C*****. Both $$ prices are way down in the tank.

Well guys $20 for marten US$ and $26 Ca$ seems to me to not make a hell of a difference when we were getting $150 couple years ago.

That's a kick in the teeth reduced pricing when compared to the previous years.
If anything, they should have doubled to $300. when you think about other products and services.
