A very interesting read.

Yeah, the obvious solution is to ban 'military style assault rifles designed to kill the most people in the shortest amount of time '.....because those are the folks who are 100% most certainly NOT committing the violent crimes. But at least then you don't have to be politically incorrect and mention that this violence is happening in very specific places, with very specific cultures and demographics. But whatever you do, don't watch the video and comment on the ethnic component of the idiots blasting away with their smuggled handguns, paid for by the taxpayers with public funds, by the generous Liberals.

Jesus friggin wept.

CERB has been misused by numerous people to buy all kinds of "toys". Give people money for free and it's going to get abused. IMO, CERB was nothing more than a vote buying campaign that cost taxpayers billions of dollars that we will NEVER get back.

Question Unintended consequences

Excerpts:
Quote:
Random street checks by police have been curbed substantially in recent years, so gang members now freely carry their guns — sometimes in satchels draped over their shoulders — instead of hiding their firearms in the trunks of their cars or at safehouses, the source explained.

Shootings have been on the rise over the last five years since street checks were essentially stopped and the Toronto Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy (TAVIS) program was scrapped.
It's a good thing the well meaning progressives in Toronto stopped that tradition of systemic racism and now allow people to be all that they can be.
Now, they just need to confiscate more firearms from law abiding, licensed owners to make their city safer for everyone, unicorns included. Expect to see CBC articles doubling down on sparkle socks' and the UN's disarmament agenda.

On another note, I like the inference that "dirty weapons" are inherently less powerful and less reliable than the almighty Glock.
I wonder if that was intentional?

Quote:
“We have learned of dozens across the GTA who are doing this. This enables them to buy more handguns, ‘dirty weapons’ (previously used in crimes) for between $400 and $800, and new Glocks, which are reliable and have strong stopping power, for $3,000,” the source said.

I don’t believe it. Fake news. No one would abuse money from the taxpayer.

The only surprising thing I found in that article is that they sent the money to an address in Beverly Hills!

"mailed to addresses that Mr. Baines had access to in Beverly Hills and the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles."

My dad got a radio put in his truck at Vision. The installer said he knew what day the CERB cheques arrive as there was/is way more traffic in the store.

GST, child tax credits, welfare, and CERB all get abused in many different ways by a portion of the public

I am not surprised at any report saying drugs, illegal guns or abused in anyway

Maybe when it gets as bad as Chicago there will finally be outrage and a demand for laws to be enforced, just like in Chicago....

Oh, wait....never mind.

It's not lives that matter, it's the political agenda that matters.

And that's why I say damn them all to hell.

It's sad, because I know quite a few people that used CERB to pay rent and buy food. Jack-holes like this make subsidy programs for low-income people a lot harder in the future....
