Default Flu vaccine shots are here. FYI

Not a thread about anti vaxxers.

Just wanted to let folks know you can get shots. Ow if over 65 or high risk.

You may need to phone around. First 6 pharmacies I called were already out.

High risk first they say.

So over 65 and those will health issues.

They have limited doses for the first bunch. Some have run out.

Call around if in the risk category.

If not in high risk...appointments are filling up and walk ins are less likely.

Oct 20th I'm booked, I have CLL and my immune system is weak so I have to get one, worked overseas in Central Asia for years and it was a condition of our employment so I have had one every year since 1992 and I'm still fairly normal

The wife and I are booked in for the 24th, I've been getting the shot since the flu of 98, I didn't think it was possible for a healthy person to get that sick without dying.
I would imagine when penicillin first came out there were people that refused to be injected with mold spores, it's a personal choice.

I know people that have had the bad flu and an easy flu. Once you’ve had the bad...I agree...makes getting a free simple flu shot and easy choice.

^^ X100 !

A car mechanic screws up my car & there's a good chance I can easily recoup any losses, and that's just a car.
Try that with a vaccine reaction and no recourse, and it's the most important thing you will ever own= You.

Flu shot has "dead" virus to stimulate your immune system. This is the same thing that happens when you get sick from some pathogen, recover and can't get it again. But without the getting sick part.

What kind of special thing are you calling me? And all the doctors and scientists and lay-people since Jenner?

Default Flu shot

Alberta has been using de-activated quadrivalent flu vaccine for years. It is compressed of 2-influenza A strains and 2-influenza B strains. Influenza C- strains are generally mild and do not require immunizations.

This years vaccine includes H1N1, H3N2 for the influenza A strains. As well as Washington and Phuket for the B strains.

On a side note in a 92,000 retrospective non peer reviewed study in Brazil. They found that the flu shot (they use trivalent shot) helped reduce serious affects of COVID-19. They found 8%-18% reduction in different area's such as ICU admissions, Invasive ventilation, and mortality. The theory is the flu shot get's the immune system up and active which help fights COVID-19. This study needs to be studied further and replicated if possible. Take it for what it's worth.

Default flue shoot

Med Head, that is a interesting study in Brazil how the immune system kicks in even for Corona SARS-2 (Covid -19) from flue shoot. Agree it needs further independent verification.
