Default Roughies in the snow....

Pooch needed a stretch and some action for an hour.

Left 2 more in the trees.
Beauty evening.

Good stuff! Great picture too.

Do you find that grouse behaviour changes when there's snow on the ground and freezing temps? We went out for a few hours this morning, from first light to about 1130am. Drove, walked, pushed brush, looked in trees and under trees. Didn't see a single grouse in an area I've been told was thick with them for the last two weeks.

Maybe I just suck at grouse hunting. LOL

Looks like a Savage Over/Under. .22 on top, and 20 gauge underneath?
Packs down into a nice little package that fits into a daypack well!

Savage mod24 camper version. 20 inch barrel.

Birds were under the canopy of spruces.

Find track.. doggo does the rest. Easy peasy.

Lots o birds.

looks like a great day for birds with a mans best friend. Would love to do this with a dog but my pair of presas would rather eat the bird than bring it back.

I just bought a Chiapas .22/.410 for ruffles. Perfect little guns, especially for the 11 year old

Default I prefer .22/.410

Older Savage 24 with side barrel button back when they actually regulated the barrels to hit the same point of impact.Over choked honest 30 yard bird gun.
