Restricted transfer

Bought a restricted this morning, till receipt was 10:13. Called and they emailed my transfer at 10:38. Ext 9026 saves being on hold a bit. Was surprised it was that quick. No reason why they all can't be that easy.

My last one took over 30 days to get confirmation.

2 phone calls at the two and 4 week interval to get it pushed.

It was in early July so that may be a factor?

Still, they need to be a little more transparent with timelines.

But alas, government work seldom comes with transparency lol

I believe the kilometres between your home and purchase point play a role, Can't recall exactly but i think its 100 kms.
I've purchased restricted a couple times while on a road trip and the process was complete within an hour

FAXed the death certificate and executors papers the next day but as of yet nobody has bothered to enter it in the system or so the excuses go?

In this case I would expect there's a longer process of the firearm transfer. I don't think the widow is allowed to be in possession of the pistol unless she has an RPAL. If she does then there may be a couple transfers that need to take place.

To the OP I live out of town so most of my restricted transfers are completed in an hour or so. I was told it's not kms, but over 1 hour travel which they simply check on Google maps. My thoughts exactly on why it can't always be that fast. I find most CFOs I talk to are actually very helpful and a pleasure to deal with, while a few will only give bits of useless info and nothing more. Like they want the process to take longer for some reason.
