I've never "hunted" wolves and don't know anyone who has. I know they are about the toughest predator to kill.

All the guys I know who have taken a wolf were out hunting another species and happened to see one and pulled the trigger.

where do you live

ask you local area ESRD Bio if he/she has any wolf problems..310..0000

I call them in works great just remember every predator is coming when distress calling .. howling works great too!!! just wait(calm days)

Food for Thought

Calling does work good. Try cow elk calls in areas with elk as well. I had a pack come in on me once when I was calling elk and since I have been able to bring them in a few more times intentionally.

Called in a pair last february. Used regular coyote howls (Primos hotdog)and rabbit distress (tally-ho call). Had em within 90 yrs in about 20 minutes. Unreal hunt.

You will find over 8000 wolves in the 300 and 500 Wmus. Just pick one. Also a few in the 400's.

From what I saw last November 516 might be a good choice. Most of the northern bush zones hold pretty healthy populations of wolves. Can't speak to methods as they are more of an opportunity animal for me.

Go to the foothills and you will find wolfs. I have used a electronic caller with some success. Rabbit and fawn in distress have worked, but I was howling too so can't say what brought them in.

The best way to kill a wolf is to put on miles and be totally unprepared

It's worked for us now several times lol
