Very very impressive.

Impressive indeed. Can’t say that I am surprised that it was shot with a 6BR variant (they go by a variety of handles as they grow through the “ackleyized” 6BR’s to the venerable full blown Dasher).

That is a nice group.

I was only able to get to 5.5" at 1100 yards from factory rifle

Impressive for sure to say the least, good equipment, tuning and practise practise practise.

Those 6 BR's are fun and accurate cartridges, fast twist for long range ,slow twist up close.

Not really, many long range BR shooters have come close tobtystbover the years, IIRC Bill Shehane has several World records under two inches .

"Wilson’s world record-setting 5-shot group measured 1.068 inches or, in angular terms, a stunning 0.102 minutes of angle (MOA). He even managed to land all five rounds in the center X-ring for a perfect score. (The previous 5-shot, light gun IBS record, set in 2007, measured 1.397 inches.)"

That’s very impressive, helps having a rig designed for it though, but still the reticle will be in the way.

The targets in Bench rest are often shot using the bracketing method , the reticle is not held on the group itself but on a square above the group, or setting the target in a corner of reticle.
However , it could very well have been shot “ holding on”.
You do not loot at the group you are shooting at however, but the sight picture itself
At 1,000 the danged 6mm holes would be almost impossible to see!
