Default What arrow to use?

I am shooting a bowtech allegiance with a 70 lb draw weight and a 29" arrow. I am currently using an arrow that weighs 420 grains including the broadhead, nock and fletching. I want to try lighter arrows that are right around 350-360 grains with a 100 grain broadhead. For my combo what arrows are options?

I have been looking and most of the arrows for aggressive bows with a 29" arrow come in to heavy. I am planning on going to Jimbows and getting him to set me up just wondering what arrows fit the bill for what I want. Any suggestions?

Also, will I lose stability going to a 75 grain broadhead?

u could have a look at the easton axis 340 9.5gpi and maybe shoot a 125 grain broadhead which will help ya quite a bit with penetration.

u dont wanna get to light shoot that much poundage.

Not a lot of choices for you. My own set-up is a 29" 3-49 ACC with an 85 gr Montec & 4" helical feathers. I meant to weigh it, I think it's around 400 grains. Why do you want to lighten up? The faster you go, the harder it will be to tune even with mechanicals.

I am ok with the 420 grain setup I am shooting now, just want to try something lighter, faster and flatter shooting and then see for myself how it shoots. Want to try them out over the summer so I have a chance to develop my own opinion on which is better.

The Maximas are supposed to be a great arrow, and one of the lightest right now. The only lighter one I know of that should fit your bill would be the Easton Lightspeed, I think. I wouldn't go lighter than an 85gr head, and you should probably look at a high profile, short fletch like the Blazers or Arizona's to try and keep the weight forward. Like everyone else here so far, I'll say that once you break 300fps, any great rig can get finicky.
My pins were getting a little close together at 290fps, and I think keeping it around 270-280fps with 400-450grs of weight is a great setup. You should be in there with an Allegiance and 29" draw.
Skip the wraps, Luminoks and all that too, if your trying to lose weight.

The lightest set up I've ever used was some Carbon Tech 3D Cheetahs (hunter's are the same, different grade). Those will get you down into that weight area that you're looking for. There's also a few others that are lighter. Here's what Archers Advantage gave me for a 70 lb bow & a hard cam and my 85gr point. I've also tried to attach a screen shot but 550x733 is too big.

Either of these two types of arrows will get you down to the light weight you want. Also you could go with High Country 6.2 gpi arrows. Check out there repective websites for more info.

how much can you afford? Best arrows on the market? if your using them for hunting, I wouldnt worry to much about getting the best, but if you really want, try Easton ACC's, FMJ, or Victory. If your shooting 3D, well, look at Easton ACE's, Victory, probably a few more out there that I can trember at this time. But the top of the top I wouldhave to say is the ACE's for 3D or target anyway.

Ya I agree with you.My bow shoots 269 fps with a 125gr BH/429gr Arrow.Besides my moose this year i have never had an arrow stop inside an animal and my moose had the whole arrow in the chest cavity.Shoots great and almost o tuning issues.

I shoot Carbon X arrows and love them.

If you plan to use for hunting i wouldn't go to far below 400g for hunting setup. You'll have a arrow that will shoot fast and flat but It will lack in energy to get through bone and muscle. My arrows weight 407.5g with everything. And at 320 fps if i calculated right is around 89 ft/lbs. More than enough for bone and muscle of moose and elk. Find an online energy calculater and enter your data. You'll be surprised at how total weight will affects your K energy. And that, after shot placement is very important to a bow hunter. good luck. jay

350 + 100= 450 not lighter even with 75g its still 425g not lighter. Just wondering if you ment heaver?
