quad box
What's the best quad box out there and who offers the best price
I need something with lots of storage and something that gives me access to battery and fuse box (honda rubicon).
I'm a bigger guy, so a box that sits further back would be nice as well.

The best one is the wooden one you build yourself.
Less than $100.

If this was last summer I’d have to say for less than $100 you’d be building a pretty small box. Glad to see lumber prices have fallen significantly this summer so you can actually build something!

Yes. A 4x8 sheet of treated 5/8" plywood here is $99
But I have lumber under my deck from 2016.....lol
Most expensive part of my wooden quad box was the $20 piece of rubber mat I got at Princess Auto to keep the box from rubbing on the quad rack. Mine is simple. Holds a 5l jerry can, tool box, stihl ms250 chainsaw, litre of chain oil, a tarp and my backpack. I rigged a gun holder for my cooey 22 on it too.

I have a wooden one on right now, but I can't access the battery or fuse box with it on and my kids can't sit behind me with it.

Mine is secured with 2 ratchet straps......easy off
Yeah the kids pose a different issue and a wood box wouldnt work

I made one out of three quarter in plywood for the dog to ride in.
It is a strong well made box but it is heavy
It takes a strong young guy or two old guys to lift it
I was thinking that with the weight of the box plus a 100 pound dog I am putting quit a bit of extra weight on the machine
I noticed it when I did a long ride with another fellow and my gas was about one third a tank and the other guy still had more than half a tank of gas I am now remaking the box with some aluminium square tubing and lighter plywood.

A box is better for keeping the stuff inside from getting muddy. And helps keeping curious/thieving fingers off your stuff, even just a little.

I have one I found in the ditch that says bombardier. You can have it if you pick it up. Seems like a nice box

The best, most versatile system, is an extended rack with removable small boxes or bags.
Any fixed large box limits what you can haul such as game quarters.
Keep it simple and and don't be restricted by fixing a box that takes up valuable rack space.
