Default Curious about a winchester 1894 worth (PICS UP)

The interent looks to place the year of manufacture at 1909, as it is a 476xxx serial number. I believe it to be a normal grade sporter in 38-55. Some quick searches put thousands of dollars on these levers. Anyone know anyone reputable i can bring the rifle to for a looksy? Thanks. Edmontonish would be best, if possible.

They are definitely coming. I have a pair of not-so-detailed ones on my phone. I will get some good ones right away. It's not in the best shape but it's a cool rifle.

Unless there is something special about this one in terms of who owned it, wars it was in etc an 1894 model made in 1909 in 38-55 should have the new nickle steel barrel but the old steel octagon ones were around for a long time in 38-55 so it may not. It will say on the barrel. If nickel steel in shootable shape, it is a $800 shooter. If it is an old iron barrel version or not in shootable shape 3- $500 wall hanger.

If you take it to the Shootist in St Albert he can give you a pretty good idea what it is worth. He has sold a lot of used Winchester products over the years and he is a square guy to deal with.

Default thanks for that

Happy to have that lead and bit of info. This barrel is certainly not octagonal but I don't see a nickel steel marking either.
