It has been proven that white guns are much safer than black guns...except for those crimes committed in the snow.

Welcome back Sheep!

Seeing as how I have posted enough stuff to put a target on me, why don't I just start first!

The fight was never about the color of the firearm. It was about the styling of the firearm and how it is percieved in releation to the world of hunting.

Sheep, would you be willing to re-post those two photos on a new poll-thread, with the question, "Would you be comfortable partnered in camp with someone using one of these guns?"

Tree...this post was tongue in cheek.....and I don't see the point of a new poll. I think we all know it was never about the colour. This was humour! But for the record, I have shared a camp with guys with semi autos and was totally comfortable. Heck, I had my own AK47 in Russia as did nearly everyone in camp. During my Texas hunt nearly everyone had a handgun....didn't fear for my life there either. Shared a camp in BC one time though where the wrangler had a knife and that dude scared the heck out of me!

Sheep, I understand that it was tongue-in-cheek. I understand that most all of us here realize that color is not what we are debating. I understand the concept of 'when in Rome'...

What I asked is if you would be willing to post those two photos on a poll-thread regarding the question from my last post?

Not sure I'm in favour of making a firearm look more like a toy....

I have NEVER seen a pink toy gun in my life *shrug*. More so, I have seen toy guns that look a lot more real than either of those posted. to each their own I guess. If she wants a pink 22 she will get one....just as if she wants a pink car I won't find that anymore dangerous than a black one.

Osterb,

I have an enormous amount of respect for your knowledge of guns and their history. But I cannot refuse to comment any longer on your 'gun is a gun' principal. It is like saying 'all men are created equal'. Both are true in theory, but in real-life we still have to deal with the realities of life.

If you were to show a landowner (whom himself hunted or at least was open to giving permission) those two pics, which rifle would be most likely to get you permission?

If you were a landowner who (as probably 90% landowners have) has had problems with hunters, were asked for permission from a person, sporting a rifle capable of operating both a gernade launcher and a silencer, would you give them permission?

With all due respect Osterb, a gun is not a gun in the public eye. The sooner we realize this the better. You can post all of the 'pink gun' pictures you want, but it dosen't matter. It is about STYLING.

One last point. If the AR with the wood furniture performs exactly the same as the one in the second pic, why do you need to use the 'black gun'? Based on your theory of 'a gun is a gun', why does stock color matter? Isn't it about preformance? And from what I have heard, the AR is no 'sniper rifle'.
