Given the situation, most people would reacted as the defendant did, especially with pregnant wife and kids in the car. so as far as the police actions to box in are worthy of a Darwin.

And yet the police expect someone else to be punished for their stupidity. They were even willing to lie to make it happen, and now they aren't happy that the evidence resulted in the accused being found not guilty.
