We have found them, too. They'll take sheep milk replacement, but you're better off to turn it loose near a doe(s) with a fawn and see if she'll adopt it.

A fawn only has so much energy to spend until it gets fed.

How do you know it was abandoned?....just wondering because does will stash their fawns in odd places and come get them later.

because it was right by my house for 2 days i left it for a long time i figured after over 24 hours of alone time it would be pretty hungry an there was a doe hit on the road not to far from where i found him.

Good on you for dong that. That second video was so cute. Some people would say let nature take its course but ill bet you would have never forgiven yourself if he had got hit by a car, I'd probably do the same thing

Smile Good Job

Good on you for turning him in, and taking care of him before you called, sure he would of died without your intervention. I had a chance to see one a few years back, conservation officers were taking care if it. The mother was killed by a vehicle. It still had its spots on and my daughter really got a kick out of getting close to it. They had it for I believe a couple of weeks before returning it to the wild.

Gotcha....just asking

Some people have turned in animals that have not been abandoned but just "stashed" by mama for a while.

I've found a few over the years. Stepped right on top of a muley fawn a couple years ago while shed hunting. Scared the heck out of me, nearly jumped out of my skin when it wiggled under my boot. It made a couple bleats and ran off maybe 20 feet and layed down again. Had to be quick with the dog to keep her off of it. About a minute later the mother came down the river bank and stood off maybe 50 yards. It was an interesting experience.

That's awesome, Cody! I'd have done the same thing, but would've been pretty tempted to keep it though.
