yes I am replying to my own thread but only because nobody else has and I'm curious what could be done to make sure you don't run into this situation? Check for a pulse? I've heard several others talk about this happening in cases of running over a deer.

Hope everyone had spare undies afterwards. Although I don't know if the deer or the humans were more startled.

Remember when I was younger guy behind my brother hit a deer while driving and deer was laying on the road. Brother got a crowbar to make sure it was dead as it just laid there. Went to swing and the thing jumped up and ran away.
