Default Mazatlan vs Cobo

Heading to mexico this winter and not sure which one of these to pick. I have been doing some reading and it does not look like you can swim in the ocean in either spot really. Any suggestions?.

Go to Cancun and head down to playa da carmen area...We stayed at Baha Princepe in November, swam and snorkled in the warm ocean

Maz is awesome, I like it better than Cancun.

There is a huge population of Canadians, namely from Alberta, Sask and BC who migrate there for the winter. Funny to walk past the tourist trap shops and see Flames, Oilers and Riders swag all for sale.

Great food in Maz too. Playa Bruja down near the Riu is amazing, so is Fat Fish for ribs and Mary's burgers.

Saw a great deal at the Riu in Maz just last night. January 19th departure, 7 days accoms at a 5 star resort, flights all in for $2400 for two people. Sell off Vacations is where I found it.

Have fun, and take a pulmonia while you're down there!

Mazatlan has better beaches/swimming. Cabo has better fishing....caught my marlin there in 2012. Was better than swimming.

Cabo has beautiful water but swimming etc is usually not recommended
It’s rough and the current is strong
Knee high and it likely will push or pull you over

Cancun is wow

Maz is great

I got off a water taxi in Cabo and a wave caught me and i wrecked my iPhone so I might be a little jaded

we did the riu in mazatlan and swam in the ocean a lot. Can be bad for jellyfish though. we did a ton of boogie boarding, water was really warm. We just booked to Puerto Vallarta for the first time. only a 6 week wait....... cant wait.

I've never been to Cabo, but i've been to Maz 11 times, we always go to the beach between the Torres and Playa Bruja. You can definitely swim there, of course the ocean conditions can change day to day. Great place to boogie board and lots of people surf at Bruja. We've seen jellyfish twice in all those visits, my son got stung once and was back in the water within half an hour.
