Default 359 late season cow elk

Anyone having any luck with cow elk for this last late season tag?
I have a couple buddies up there now.
I’m assuming this cold weather and fresh snow will help locate the elk.
Any tips would be great!

PM if so.

Thanks!

Wish I could help you. In 360 I could point you to a "shopping trip" rather than a hunt, but no dice for 359

Default elk

The Peace River valley and coulees main source of elk in WMU 359 and 326. They then come out to farmer kitchens with good feed. Try to scout for tracks.

Was up there last weekend. Those elk are crazy spooky. Very rare to see them in daylight hours. Not a lot of success this year is what I hear from the locals.

Default 359 Elk

We were up between Christmas and New Years. It was very warm and no new snow. Trying to find fresh tracks was the hard part, and they were not moving much in plus temps. Didn't see one elk in 4 days. Three friends were up last weekend and got one cow between them. Fresh snow and the obvious signs of them feedings and following the tracks into the bush worked. Scout for fresh signs and play the wind and follow. Good Luck.

I had similar experience in the zone I was hunting lots of sign but all off the fields before daylight. Seamed like they were getting pressured during the night you could see places where someone would manoeuvre their truck to shine lights out into fields. I’m guessing the economy is playing a roll in all this IMO. never seen them this spooky at this time of year. Only ones that stay out later are in tight to a house and hard to get at.
