Default Draw question

I'm having trouble finding the answer in the draw booklet to this question...

If I put if for a Mule deer draw (code 13) in a WMU with a general archery season, can I still hunt the archery season with my draw tag? I was positive I could do this in years past and now that I'm up for my draw I have started looking into it and cant find a straight yes or no answer... Any help or reference would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Yes you can, if there is a non-draw archery only season (in that zone you drew only!) and you pull a draw general season tag, you can hunt the archery only season with archery tackle and then hunt the general draw season if you were successful in pulling the tag.

You can ONLY hunt that zone under your draw tag for the entire season, you cannot purchase a general tag....you cannot hunt other zones.

However there is a proposal that could change all this if accepted, this holds true this year.

This is what I thought! It seems everyone has a different thought.

Yes they are different codes. This new system will Not allow you to purchase combinations that aren't allowed.

That's the answer right there, call, email F&W and get a response from them in writing.
Better safe than sorry.

MAC dug it up for ya!

If you draw cow elk you can only hunt cow elk...in that WMU or group of WMU's ..both archery and rifle...

as with mule deer...however you can draw a doe and still hunt general buck...
In most areas unless it is in an archery only WMU you can hunt both with bow and rifle...
