Bear Baiting Question

We off to hunt for the weekend and are planning to get to the bait site around 5pm. We are going to re-stoke our site with the regular...oats, meat scraps (which really stink lol), oil and hang a beaver. We need to make a few holes in our barrel will the noise affect our hunt? Or will the new bait and smell still bring in the bears? They have been coming in around 730

I've always maintained a get the baiting done before 2PM pattern.
I also perscribe to a predictable pattern of events, into the bait, bang the 5 gallon pail while emptying it, do what you need to do and walk out.
To preserve this routine I like to have someone come into the bait when it gets hunted, follow your routine, with the pail bang(dinner bell) and have your wheel man walk out once the hunter is in the stand.
Keep to a routine, that's what helps keep Yogi on day time hours.

Deviating from the Routine, with extra noise, and different baits will possibly throw huntable bears into nocturnal activity.

Of course things might not change one little bit, but do you want to chance it going sideways???

Predictable

We used to refill the barrels, then hit the barrel with a stick 5 times

It was like ringing the dinner bell. Within a half hour, the bears were there

We used to do that about 3 pm. Every three days for a couple weeks
